M1 certification is a French standard that assesses the fire behaviour of materials, specifically their ability to prevent the spread of flames. Firewall fire-retardant paints with M1 certification ensure that the treated materials are flame-resistant and do not contribute to the spread of fire. This certification is particularly sought after in enclosed spaces such as theatres, conference halls, public spaces and venues with high occupancy, where fire prevention is essential to ensure the safety of occupants. It is comparable to our Italian Class 1 standard, as it is primarily required for furnishings.
